James Dean Bradfield is a singer-songwriter who is best known as the lead guitarist and lead singer for the Welsh alternative rockers “The Manic Street Preachers“. Contributions on the album were made by “Manics” bassist Nicky Wire as writer and co-writer on a couple of songs. Also featuring on the album is drummer David Ieuan from fellow Welshmen “Super Furry Animals“. The album also include a cover of Jacques Brel entitled “To See A Friend In Tears”. Overall the album was very well received by the critics and proves his qualities as a singer-songwriter and as solo artist. “The Great Western” remains James Dean Bradfield’s only solo album.
