Description
Poinciana was recorded at the Spotlite Club in Washington in 1958, released in 1963. An infectious album featuring Isreal Crosby on bass and Vervel Fournier on drums made this into one of Jamal‘s biggest successes in his carrier. This classic performance was subtle and fresh and let the world hear a new sound in jazz full of energy and intensity. Unheard of at the time for a jazz trio, this album stayed in the charts for 2 years!
