Description

What B.B. King is to the blues, or George Jones to traditional country, is Grammy-winning accordionist Flaco Jimenez to the world of Tex-Mex conjunto. King of Conjunto Music and sideman to the stars. On Partners it is the other way around, the stars sing for Flaco. The album kicks off with Stephen Stills’ “Change Partners” from his 1971 album Stephen Stills 2. On Warren Zevon’s “Carmelita” the lead vocals are for Dwight Yoakam, “El Puente Roto” is a duet with Flaco & Linda Ronstadt followed by appearances as lead vocalists by John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Emmylou Harris, and finally Los Lobos’ “Don’t Worry Baby” by Los Lobos members Cesar Rosas and Steve Berlin.
