This album was released in 1972 and still to this day, LWIII-fans praise it as one of his best. A righteous reflection of his own person, Wainwright succeeded in making this album as brutally honest and as real as he possibly could without losing his usual dosage of humor. Album III was recorded with a full backing band in the majority of the tracks, starting off with the novelty hit single “Dead Skunk”. Also “Red Guitar”, “Needless to Say” and “Drinking Song” give insight in the true “world-weary” Loudon Wainwright III. A must have for every one with a passion for folk music.
