Description
Loudon Wainwright‘s 4th album was released in 1973 and was arguably the best studio recording he had done so far. After his success with “Dead Skunk” he maintained the humor and fun in his music. E.g. mocking the way Jesus is looked up to in “I Am The Way” (live version) and in “Liza” remembering his classmate Liza Minelli, a personal ode to her winning an Oscar for Cabaret. As to be expected Wainwright‘s honesty is a delight and refreshing even to this day. He is not afraid to be sensitive and telling us about his family with the 2 last tracks on this album; in “Dilated To Meet You” he lays bare their exhaustion, after which telling himself to shut up and go to bed in “Lullaby”.
