Description
Weather Report‘s 15th album, released in 1985, Sportin’ Life has a more laidback, easy going sound without losing any of the much loved WR funk, representing fusion/jazz at her best! “Corner Pocket” and “Hot Cargo” are energetic and vibrant, creatively balanced out with “Confians” and “Faces on the Ballroom Floor”. Sportin’ Life is the natural answer to Domino Theory, featuring more electronic elements and more vocals from Carl Anderson and Bobby McFerrin than previous albums. Weather Report gained confidence, even though Rossy‘s seat was filled by Mino Cinelu on percussion, to record a strong and excitingly rhythmic album.
