“Heartfelt” was released in 2002; the 8th studio album produced by the phenomenal jazz quartet Fourplay. They created a crossover between contemporary jazz, R&B and pop with “Heartfelt” and started reaching a broader audience. Tracks like “Galaxia” and “That’s the Time” helped enormously, with as break from the instrumentals the saucy “Let’s make Love” made this album evidently more mainstream. Fourplay abandoned their individual processes and decided to record this album by just jamming in the studio. “Heartfelt” seems more together than previous albums, a comfortable combination of smooth guitar with fresh percussions and drums and funky bass guitar all soothed by piano/keyboard.
