This album was recorded at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan on July 27, 28 and 30 of 1987, forming Franklin‘s 3rd gospel live recording. “One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism” gives the listener a full Baptist Church service with melodious gospel songs (“Ave Maria”, “Be Grateful (Bonus)” and “Oh Happy Day”) plus prayers and spoken words by Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Jasper Williams. Guest singers are Mavis Staples and Joe Ligon (The Might Clouds of Joy) and Aretha Franklin is backed up by her (late) sisters Erma and Carolyn. This release includes 4 bonus tracks that were left out on the vinyl version.
