To the Limit has been out of print for a long time and the original CD version from the 90s is well sought after. Produced in 1978, this album marked the first time Armatrading recorded an album with a live band instead of separate studio sessions. This helped give the album a fuller sound and perhaps even a deeper, funkier feel to the lyrics. All musicians are clearly having a great time playing these tracks and Armatrading‘s voice is simply phenomenal. Her lyrics are real and really get accentuated by the effort of the live band.
