‘American Doll Posse’ is the most inspired sounding album she’s put out since ‘From The Choirgirl Hotel’. ‘American Doll Posse’ features Tori as five distinct characters; Isabel, Clyde, Santa, Tori and Pip, who combine to make a complete woman. They each have their own personalities and even their own blogs and all give their views on politics, love, sexuality and religion. Most tracks sound brimming with energy and life but find Tori divided in direction, singing from the perspectives of the 5 different women. ‘American Doll Posse’ has some of her very best songwriting and compositions. Utilizing her band as opposed to multiple types of keys gives the album a pop/rock feel that hasn’t really been a part of her style before.
