Description
Originally released in 1974, Kansas‘ debut-album was groundbreaking thanks to the unique combination of writers: Steve Walsh, who mainly wrote Rock/Blues, and Kerry Livgren, who was inspired by Eastern religions and classical music (on this album specifically Hermann Hesse (tr.5) and Giacomo Puccini (tr.4 & 6)). At the time, Kansas was way ahead of the mainstream music developments, creating a niche in music, remarkably fusing progrock with blues and symphonic elements and pulling it off thanks to excellent musicianship and extraordinary songwriting. This remastered version includes a live recording of “Bringing it back”.
