Moondog Jr ( later renamed to Zita Swoon) recorded this album in 1995. For the first time bandleader Stef Kamil Carlens (former singer/bass player dEUS) wrote a full length album himself before recording the music with extraordinary musicians, showing that the Belgian alternative music scene at the time could be seen as a collective. E.g. drummer Aarich Jespers also ventured into Rudy Trouvé’s Kiss My Jazz, guitarist/pianist Tom Pintens recorded solo albums and functioned as a producer while violin player Klaas Janszoons still had his position in dEUS; everyone did it with everyone. The title of this album is still a mystery with tracks like T.V. Song, Waitin till you’re gone and Jintro and the great luna only adding to the mystique atmosphere on this endearing album. So next time you want to listen to some Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart or Velvet Underground, opt for Moondog Jr. Everyday I wear a greasy black feather on my hat will give you goose bumps and get under your skin.
