The Pennsylvanian Jazz-Fusion brothers, Randy on the trumpet and the late Michael, who was one of the most influential saxophone players since Coltrane, released album “Detente” in 1980. The Brecker Brothers appeared on over 1000 albums as studio musicians on both jazz related as rock albums. On the rock side they recorded with John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed & Steely Dan to name a few and in the jazz from Hancock, Mingus & Hargrove to Quincy Jones. On “Detente” the brothers are accompanied by Airto Moreira, Hiram Bullock, Steve Gadd & Marcus Miller a.o. which gives the album a “highest quality guaranteed” jazz-fusion album.
