Description
The band, David Sylvian, Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri and Mick Karn debuted with the 1978 album “Adolescent Sex” and followed up with their second album, “Obscure Alternatives”, the same year. Both albums sold well in Japan (where the band’s name helped them gain a devoted cult following) and the Netherlands, where the single “Adolescent Sex” was a hit. The music from Japan was described in England at the time as “a very European form of detached, sexually-ambiguous and thoughtful art-pop”. The “In Vogue” compilation contains the longer 12” mixes of “All Tomorrow’s Parties”, “European Son” and the Giorgio Moroder collaboration, “Life in Tokyo”.
