Description
O.G. Schoolly D., (a.k.a.) “The King Of New York”, is without a doubt one of the founding fathers of Hip-Hop and one of the baddest bad-ass muthafuckas around. ‘Am I Black Enough For You?’ is his fourth and probably one of his best albums, much funkier than his bleaker and more raw earlier albums. Much of his older material has become classic and his influence among the Hip-Hop scene is vast and infinite. He profiles himself as a rapper who actually cares how his messages are getting across to the people. The album includes samples from Chicago Gangsters “Gangster Boogie”, James Brown‘s “King Heroin”, Jimi Hendrix‘s “Voodoo Child” and of course Billy Paul‘s “Am I Black Enough For You?”.
