Compiling the best tracks from the first two albums of Dutch Gruppo Sportivo, Back to 19 Mistakes highlights their peak period 1977-1979. They could parody almost any musical genre (“I Shot My Manager” aims at both blues and reggae, for example), and when they hit lyrically, they could be quite withering (“Superman”, with its love triangle, works very well). “Disco Really Made It” raises a belly laugh, as does “Rock’n’Roll”. It’s this period they extensively toured through-out Europe. They played the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Germany and so on with a very successful and above all, very funny live show. With this excellent compilation their mistakes may live on.
