Description
Full Sail is the third album by singer/songwriter duo Loggins and Messina (formerly of Poco and Buffalo Springfield), released in 1973. It showed the versatility of the duo, with everything from 1950s retro to island-style to soft ballads. The LP is subtle and heavily influenced by the liquid sensuality of reggae, which has seeped into Messina‘s music just as in the early Poco days he let Latin rhythms roll through his country riffs. “Lahaina” and “Coming To You” are both reggaes, one tropically light-hearted, the other a sexy seance that conjures the spirit of Buddy Holly. The single “My Music” charted at #16. The album as a whole did better, reaching #10 on the Pop Charts.
