Recorded and produced in 1973, Just Outside Of Town is Mandrill‘s 4th album and upon release hit the #6 spot in Billboard’s Top Soul Albums. This Brooklyn based band has its roots in Panama, however growing up in New York City and hooking up with each other brought influences such as R&B, Funk, Rock, Jazz and Latin together into a gutsy sound. Mandrill albums are a favorite amongst artists and filmmakers. Eminem, Kanye West, Snoop Dog, Wyclef Jean and many more have sampled Mandrill‘s songs and achieved great success. Even Public Enemy sampled Two Sisters of Mystery into their By The Time I Get To Arizona, with the song becoming an actual Hip Hop anthem.
